Sebastian has always been deeply interested in people, and how we can often “get stuck” in patterns of behaviours that might makes us feel good in the short-term, however are not aligned with our deeply held values and long-term goals. Following this passion and desire to help people become “unstuck”, made Sebastian want to become a Clinical Psychologist.
With a wealth of experience, Sebastian aims to deeply connect with clients from a non-judgemental place. Sebastian works with clients to cultivate a deep personal connection with life, purpose, values and related struggles, and quickly work on simple yet effective ways to get you more present in the moment, flexible with your thoughts and behaviours, and become unstuck!
Sebastian is passionate to bring this compassion-focused yet practical behaviour change strategies to every one, helping you to live a more rich, engaged and purposeful life.
Background
Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Sebastian completed a Bachelor of Psychology degree at the Argentinian Catholic University. In 2012, he moved to Adelaide to study a Master of Psychology (Clinical) at Flinders University.
Sebastian trained in Psychodynamic therapies, as well as Logotherapy and Attachment theory. As Sebastian developed his expertise, he was exposed to another whole range of psychotherapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness.
Sebastian’s wide experience comes from working in a variety of settings, both in the public and private sectors. He is particularly interested in working with adolescents and adults who are experiencing a range of mental health issues including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, stress, drug and alcohol dependency, anger management, grief and loss, interpersonal difficulties, family issues, and trauma.
It is also worth noting that Sebastian is both fluent in English and Spanish, and can also communicate with ease in Italian and Portuguese.
