I love that at the Brisbane ACT Centre, there is a shared philosophy between clients and therapists that is very empowering. I get to help clients work out the ways in which they have gotten stuck or narrowed, and actions they can take to have a richer life. It is less about labelling, diagnosing or treating. It is more about finding a shared understanding of the problem and teaching skills that are helpful in the long term. I find this work very creative and energising, and being with like-minded supportive health professionals makes it even more so.

I truly enjoyed my experience at the Brisbane ACT Centre. The team were so warm and welcoming and the service standards are of a high quality. But most importantly they care about their people and they care about the clients. I do miss the centre and hopefully in the next year will return.

I joined the Brisbane ACT Centre in January 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed working there. There was a wonderful collegial atmosphere and absolute generosity with resources. The centre engages actively in marketing and has been effective at ensuring a steady flow of referrals. All receptionists are lovely and work tirelessly to confirm appointments and manage the waiting list. I have no hesitation in recommending the Brisbane ACT Centre as a great place to work.

My experience of being a private practice Psychologist is that with the independence comes a sense of isolation, even with the regular peer supervision and other PD. When I started working at the Brisbane ACT Centre, it brought me in direct contact with like-minded therapists who work from this empowering, Client-focused perspective. I love being part of this community whilst still maintaining my level of independence. Having regular meetings, the ability to speak with someone in the corridor, or flick someone an email gives me a great sense of support and connectedness. I feel grateful to the Brisbane ACT Centre for helping me grow as a therapist, for helping Clients find me, and for supporting me in helping my Clients.
